to the German European Championship Qualifier (GECQ):
Welcome to "The Grand Ball of Gwendolyn" in Darmstadt!

The Location
"The Grand Ball of Gwendolyn" will take place in:
The seminar rooms of the Schirner Verlag (publishing company), Darmstadt, Elisabethenstraße 20-22.
It offers enough room for about 40 players in one room. Drinks will be available on location, but there are also a lot of shops (and restaurants) near by.

Standard Constructed; 3R+F; detailed rules can be found here at vekn.net
(Please note: You will not have to qualify for this event. The top 25% players [minimum the 5 finalists] will automatically be qualified for participation in any Continental Championship in 2012.)

Though Darmstadt lies more or less in the middle of Germany, it is quite close to Frankfurt airport (about 30 minutes with the shuttle)! B)

How to travel to Darmstadt / the location:

Travel to Darmstadt: fastest connection from Airport Frankfurt is the Airliner-Busline, departing every 30 minutes from both Airport Terminals to Darmstadt Mainstation. Traveltime about 30 Minutes.
One-Way-Ticket costs €7,60 and includes onto travel in the Darmstadt area.

Travel to the location: From Darmstadt Mainstation there are various connections to THE central city station "Luisenplatz" in Darmstadt, which is in walking distance to the ECQ-location. Easiest connection is via Tram. All trams have their last stop at Mainstation so there is no wrong direction. Lines number 2,3 and 5 (all exept No 1) leaving to Luisenplatz. Connection time 6-7 Min.
Coming by train a local connection can usually be included free of charge. Otherwise a one-way ticket costs €1,70.

Richtig, dürften immer noch 25% (minium 5 Spieler = die Finalisten) sein.

"Nur" die Finalisten sind bei den nationalen Meisterschaft qualifiziert.

Hi Rudolf, laut Reglement gilt "The top 25% of players in constructed Continental Qualifying events qualify" - nicht nur die top 5...

Danke für die Hinweise (ist letztes Jahr keinem aufgefallen ^^), die Turnierankündigung wurde also wahrgenommen UND gelesen!

Ich habe außerdem den Hinweis darauf bekommen, dass das mit der abgebildeten Karte etwas "frickelig" ist ... Lieber wieder löschen und auf Anfrage per E-Mail verschicken?

Für alle, die schon am Freitag anreisen: Von Freitag auf Samstag ist auf dem Karolinenplatz am Landesmuseum (sehr zentral) grosser Nachtflohmarkt. Wer also auf wenig schlaf, sinnloses feilschen um wertlosen Tand und anderen Plunder steht, sollte sich das nicht entgehen lassen. Professionelle Händler sind ausdrücklich unerwünscht. Die Stimmung ist meistens recht gut (je später je besser) und bei gutem Wetter erstreckt sich die Party bis in den angrenzenden Herrngarten-Park.

Und hier noch der Hinweis für die Autofahrer:
Ecke Hügelstraße/Heidelberger Straße gibt es einen großen Parkplatz (Zufahrt über Hügelstraße). Dieser gleicht zwar einer Kraterlandschaft (sehr vorsichtig fahren!), hat aber dafür den riesigen Vorteil, kostenlos zu sein und zugleich nur ca. 10 Geh-Minuten vom Spielort entfernt zu sein.
