P.S.: Melde mich hiermit an (VEKN 1003376).

Fazit: Wir kommen wieder!

Andreas and Johannes met me at the show and kindly offered to give me a lift to my hotel to get my vampire cards and then on to the venue for the tournament. They had originally said the event would start at midnight and I was going to pass (due to being so tired already) but they said it'd start at 7.30pm so it would more likely finish some time just after midnight. It actually turned out that it didn't start until just after 8.00pm I thought that would be ok with 21 players but only 2 rounds to consider - I certainly hadn't anticipated on making the final, let alone winning! :P

The first round was four players, with Andreas as my predator with a PRE/dom deck using Mind Numb and Seduction to avoid blocking minions. I don't think he was bargaining on seeing a deck like mine though, and with Beast as my first vampire he was reluctant to push too hard too fast. The other two players also sported Ventrue, with my prey also producing an Ishtarii and another vampire using Presence. Needless to say that thanks to Immortal Grapple they went in and out of torpor like yoyos. I can't remember too much about my grand-prey's deck but it was down to me and him, and after I torpored all his vampires that was pretty much it (lucky for me I did as otherwise he was going to bleed me unblockable for eight to kill me in his next turn).

The second game was four players again and proved to be much tougher. Both my prey and my predator were both playing very similar Gangrel/Serpentis decks. Luckily I put the fear into my predator (the tournament organiser, alas I'm terrible with names) just like last time which gave me some room to breathe. My prey's deck provided to be more annoying with intercept and probably over 20 Earth Melds. Most worrying however was my grand-prey/predator with a Nosferatu vote/bloat deck with added Camarilla Segregations. He played one of the latter quite early and then played a second not long after. Amazingly I managed to convince the other two to burn a vampire each to stop themselves from being ousted. Then my prey and grand-prey made a deal to team up against me, which didn't make me happy. Luckily my predator stepped in with a timely block and then a Delaying Tactics which saved both me and him from destruction. Despite their best efforts, and despite me offering my prey a 2/2 deal and then my predator a 3/1 deal, no-one played ball my way and I claimed all 4 VPs.

So with 7 VPs and two GWs on to the final in first position! I had to face Andreas again, the Gan/Ser deck who was my prey last time, and also a Lasombra deck and a Malkavian deck (the latter played by Johannes) neither of which I had seen. I gambled and sat between the two unknown decks, preying on the Lasombra and having the Malkavians behind me - basically I figured I could crush them both before they could try and oust me. Although it wasn't clear until well until the game, it turned out to be the correct choice. The Lasombra deck didn't do much except bleed his prey dry, and fold every time I hit him. Johannes played a Madness Network and brought out Gregor and I guessed his dirty out-of-turn Rotschrek antics. We were pally for the first few turns but then he insisted on bleeding me. I removed the Madness Network and he was too scared to block. Then I rushed and although he blocked with Gregor and used Song of Serenity to give him no hands and then Disarmed him. That was pretty much his game over - Andreas bled him out quickly with no further Rotschreks to be scared of. I then pummeled and finished off the Lasombra before he could kill his prey, leaving three of us. The final was timed however and it was already getting late. Andreas knew I'd rub him out if he bled me so he bargained for second place, backing off so I could finish my prey, who had brought out a Renegade Garou (which had been hassling Andreas endlessly). Unfortunately my prey kept bloating after going down to 1 pool and then the game timed out. Not an ideal end to the day, but given that myself and Andreas were tied with 1.5 VPs each I won based on the previous rounds.

So there you go. My second tournament win ever in the history of V:TES. Many thanks to everyone I met and played against, and sorry I can't remember all your names (and even if you're not here to read this). :)
