Because of their Tounament-record. Because that's what everyone thinks/knows, or because of some other reason? Like playing more often, size of the playgroup, length of playing experience?
I have talked a lot with Stéphane about this subject and we have come to the conclusion that in France (esp. Paris) the spread of different playing levels is much different from here. In Paris they have a few (about 10) very good players. Quite a lot low average players and also quite some newbies/bad players. Here in germany the average player level is higher but we do not have such a outstanding top player crew as they have in Paris. And I also think that germans tend to loose VPs some times because they are playing high risk or try to do somthing funny/innovative instead of making 2 VPs and waiting for the timeout.Anonymous wrote:Because of their Tounament-record. . Look at Antwerpen: Three French guys in the Final. Of course we just look at the starplayers like Kamel, Stéphane, Luk, Jo, Jan, Frederic,... They seem to have more top players than other nations. I'm pretty sure you'll find some bad players in both countries, no doubt. But I think it's amazing, how often players of these countries rock a tournament. And they don't play always extraordinary strong decks. They win by their playing-prowess, and that's admirable.
