More! :)

(Shame I couldn't be there - at least one of my decks made it to the final, though - or didn't Peter play dom/for/pot?)

Ah, mistake, it was Paul I sent the decklist to, I think. So not much success there, if he did play my deck.

So, you've convinced people you can't play, and maybe they believe it. Well done!

What did you take to loose with? Baali? Samedi?

Or something more challenging, like !Tor, Rav, !Malk? ;)

Well, it was Ahrimanes for me, so at least a Bloodlines clan...

You got it exactly.
Martin, Ralf and Dieter played !Malk decks, and look at their VPs! (Guys, I know this is adding insult to injury... 8) )

Not true, I played a Malk, not !Malk deck & played it badly. but least it was not a Malk S&B deck....

I played a Assamite/Web of Knifes Recruit/Stealth Bleed Deck and in the first two Rounds I was the first who was ousted...

Good on those who didn't play the standard powerdecks.

But I can understand the temptation of wanting to keep your rating high - even though I'm letting mine slip.

Much more fun to organise a couple of tournaments, judge an ECQ, miss a couple of tournament, watch some other people become #1, and then make a comeback on the scene. ;)

I almost recognised myself in your statement, Tobias:

That part I will have to work on... 8)

You could always say your comeback is 80% done!

Subject: (Tournament report) Black Sunrise, Utrecht 16/4

Hi all,

This is a short report of the Black Sunrise tournament that
took place in Utrecht on saturday 16/4. I apologize for the
delay (and for the brevity), but I haven't had much time
these days. Anyway, better late than never... :-)

So, 20 people showed up for the event. 7 from Germany,
3 from Belgium and the rest from the Netherlands. We played
3 rounds + final, but it was a sort of "tour de force", since time
constraints put by the location forced us to play the whole
tournament without a single minute of break (sorry for that!).

Anyway, here are the final standings (the decklist of the
winner follows at the end of this post):

1 Emile Bosman 1 GW 6 VP + 4 VP in final
2 Alexander Schrijvers 2 GW 8 VP + 1 VP in final
3 Emiliano Imeroni 1 GW 6 VP + 0 VP in final
4 Tim de Jong 1 GW 5 VP + 0 VP in final
5 Peter Bouwman 1 GW 5 VP + 0 VP in final
6 Izaak Havelaar 1 GW 4 VP
7 Jeroen van Oort 1 GW 4 VP
8 Dietmar Range 1 GW 3,5 VP
9 Stefan Monnoijer 0 GW 3 VP
10 Ralf Lammert 0 GW 3 VP
11 Ruben Van Cauwenberghe 0 GW 2,5 VP
12 Stefan Krämer 0 GW 2 VP
13 Gerhard Range 0 GW 1,5 VP
14 Martin Schumacher 0 GW 1,5 VP
15 Mark Huyser 0 GW 1 VP
16 Bram Vink 0 GW 1 VP
17 Michael Bartsch 0 GW 0 VP
18 Dieter Ahrweiler 0 GW 0 VP
18 Paul Wiggers 0 GW 0 VP
20 Manuel Nieman 0 GW 0 VP

---------------------------------------------

Since I was in the final, Bram Vink was so kind to judge it,
and he also wrote a quite detailed account, that I will use
here (which is why I refer to myself with the third
person ;-) ). Thanks!

The seating in the final was:

Emile Bosman (Ravnos Tumnimos + Week of Nightmares) ->
Emiliano Imeroni (Black Hand Assamites) ->
Alexander Schrijvers (Howler + Setites) ->
Tim de Jong (Malkavian/!Malkavian S & B) ->
Peter Bouwman (Toreador obf/pre political)

Tim's S & B deck starts by bleeding Peter steadily with
Claven and Yorik. Emile brings out Vaclav Petalengro and
Tsigane, and immediately plays a Sensory Deprivation on
Emiliano's Reza Fatir. However, Emiliano brings out Yazid
Tamari and partially counters the Sensory's effect, thanks
to a Watchtower: Four Ride Forth.

Alexander brings out Qufur am-Heru and Howler and starts
bleeding Tim, who continues to bleed Peter also with The
Colonel and Boy Toy. Peter brings out Greta Kircher and
advanced Jessica, and soon makes the former Cardinal.

Alexander bleeds Tim for 8, leaving him at 6 pool, while
Peter uses Greta's special to a good effect against Tim, who
seems to be out of bleed. Emiliano continues at a decent
pace, bleeding Alexander constantly and playing Reunion
Kamuts. But Alexander suddenly ousts Tim by luckily
top-decking an Aire of Elation.

In the meanwhile Emile has deprived also Greta of her senses,
and has 5 minions out. Emiliano keeps bleeding Alexander
with Bloodworks, while Alexander is staying put, playing
Enchant Kindreds at superior, and suddening Peter's Minion
Tap's twice. Emiliano starts to try convincing everyone to
keep a Sudden Reversal for the upcoming Week of
Nightmares, but without success.

So Emile plays the Week, taps Emiliano's only untapped minion
with Gabrin and ousts him with 11 bleed total. However,
he's left with empty minions. Alexander stays untapped,
while Peter tries to bleed Emile.

Emile plays another Sensory on Jessica, but Peter has luckily
Mylan Horseed left, and bleed again for 2. Next, Emile plays
a Pentex Subversion on Howler, and ousts Alexander. Then
Emile stops for a while, avoiding hunting loops thanks to
Svadharmas, while Peter brings out Marthe Dizier. Emile burns
Mylan with another Sensory Deprivation, then gets the Pentex
back thanks to Anthelios and uses it to block Marthe. At this
point Peter, without any usable minions, surrenders.

By the way...

Someone forgot a 10th Anniversary Tin (2nd set, empty) at the
tournament location. Please contact me if you want it back (for
instance, I could bring it to the German qualifier this saturday).

Emiliano
