Damit ich fit bin für den GQ würde ich gerne nochmal sicherstellen wie das funktioniert. (Hardy, übernehmen sie ...)

Meine Auslegung bisher:
Frank 48Deci kommt ins Spiel und contestet einen bereits vorhandenen. Er bekommt kein Conviction, da er ja garnicht richtig in Spiel kommt. Der Gegner gibt irgendwann den Contest auf. Frank 48Deci wird zu Beginn seiner Runde umgedreht, bekommt eine Conviction (wahrscheinlich aus der Library), da er ja jetzt ins Spiel gekommen ist. Da wir in der Untap-Phase sind, darf der Spieler zusätzlich noch eine Conviction aus Ash Heap oder Hand auf ihn legen.

Daraus folgt aber auch:
Frank 48Deci wird mit zwei Comvictions auf sich gebanisht. Beim Wiederkommen kommt er ins Spiel, bekommt also eine zusätzliche Conviction (und hat damit drei).

Er bekommt nur dann eine Conviction wenn das Spiel "betritt" und noch keine hat, in deinem Beispiel würde er also Conviction nummer 3 nicht bekommen.

Conviction is a new card type. It is played in the untap phase, so it is an "untap" card, not a master or minion or discard (event) card. During your untap phase, you may play 1 conviction on each of your imbued. You may play these conviction cards from your hand or from your ash heap. When an imbued enters play with no conviction, he may gain 1 conviction from your library, hand or ash heap. In addition to their own effects, conviction cards may be spent (burned) to pay the conviction costs which some cards require. Each imbued has a limit of 5 conviction. Any conviction gained above five is burned instead.

Imbueds können auch wenn sie contested werden eine Conviction kriegen, siehe LSJs Post in d. Newsgroup:

No. Just as there is a window for paying three pool for a contested
scarce vampire and a window for burning the tired Jimmy Dunn when a new one comes in to relieve him, there's a window for giving a Conviction
card to a contested imbued as it enters play (just before it is
contested).

Alles klar. Beides widerspricht meinen Annahmen. Im Oberstübchen richtig abgespeichert ...

Falsch, siehe Jörgs Post mit LSJ's Post darin.
Der Imbued bekommt seine Conviction, und wird dann contestet.
