[Announcement] EM 2004

Post by Andreas Nusser »

Dear VTES players,

As many of you will know, this year's VTES European Championship will be held in Heidelberg, Germany. Johannes Walch and Andreas Nusser, Germany's national coordinator, are pleased to announce some details of this event as well as some general information about the city and its surroundings.

The EC will take place on the 27th and 28th of November in the

SRH-Seminarzentrum Heidelberg
Bonhoefferstr. 12
69123 Heidelberg
Germany

http://www.seminarzentrum.srh.de/

Located about 2km from the city-centre of Heidelberg, the Seminarzentrum is only a short cab-ride away from various bars, pubs and hotels. For those of you who want to save the cab-fare and prefer to sleep long, a guest-house directly across the street also offers its services. It is equivalent to a three-star hotel and single-rooms go at €49,50 each, while double-rooms are €65 (breakfast is not included, but available for € 6,80). Please be aware that supplies are limited - therefore, you should book early. Just send an email to Andreas (a.nusser@vekn.de).

Additional information on other hotels will soon be made available via the EC-web-site.

The EC 2004 itself will start off on Saturday with an additional Constructed qualifier on Saturday and a Draft-Tournament (starting fee €20).
Sunday will see the actual Championship-Tournament as well as a Constructed and a Draft Tournament (starting fee €20) for those unlucky enough to not have qualified.
Plus, we are also working on getting White Wolf to sponsor a party to celebrate the tenth anniversary of V:tES!

Refreshment and snacks will be available for a small charge in the tournament hall. Otherwise, there is also a university cafeteria in walking distance that offers three different meals for only € 5. If you are interested in a more sophisticated atmosphere, you should eat at the restaurant next to the guesthouse.

Heidelberg and its surrounding country-site are beautiful all year round and offer many sightseeing opportunities. At the moment, we are planning a guided sightseeing tour for those of you interested - and you better should be because you will get the exclusive opportunity to marvel at the real Heidelberg Castle (also known as Heidelburg Castle in DS)

Christkindelmarkt, a traditional Christmas fair held in many cities in the south of Germany, also offers a great relief from the excitement of the tournament, not to forget the chance to drink some Glühwein.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email at any time. We are looking forward to seeing princes and players from all over Europe!

Best regards,
Johannes Walch & Andreas Nusser

Deshalb:

Some of the German Players were confused about the entry fee of the EC.

The entry fee for the weekend is 10 EURO. Therefore you can participate in following events. The EC Qualifiers on saturday, the EC on sunday or the constructed on sunday.

Each draft (saturday or sunday) costs 20 EURO (very unluckily but subject to change) and elegibles the players to get 9 Boosters.

My mistake for any confusion I have troubled.

Andreas
